Peter Schlosser has a diverse and extensive work experience. Peter is currently serving as the Vice President and Vice Provost of Global Futures at Arizona State University. Peter is also the Director of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory and a University Professor of Global Futures in the Schools of Sustainability, SESE, and SSEBE. Additionally, they hold the position of Distinguished Global Futures Scientist at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory.
Prior to their role at Arizona State University, Schlosser worked at Columbia University. Peter was the Deputy Director and Director of Research at The Earth Institute, Columbia University, and held the position of Maurice Ewing and J. Lamar Worzel Professor of Geophysics in the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering. Peter was also a Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Vinton Professor of Earth and Environmental Engineering. Schlosser served as the Associate Director and Director of Research at The Earth Institute, Columbia University, and started their career there as an Associate Professor.
Before joining Columbia University, Schlosser worked at the University of Heidelberg as an Assistant Professor.
Peter Schlosser obtained a PhD in Physics from Heidelberg University, where they studied from 1975 to 1985. Prior to that, they earned their High School Degree (Abitur) in Natural Sciences from Friedrich-Magnus Schwerd Gymnasium in Speyer, Germany, from 1966 to 1974. Additionally, they have obtained a certification as a Competent Boards Faculty from Competent Boards in 2022.
