John Abou-Rjeily started their work experience in 2011 with a student internship at the Lebanese Agriculture Research Institute. John then worked as an Assistant at the University of Balamand from 2012 to 2014. In 2013, they became a Biology and Psychology Teacher at the National American School until 2016. Starting in 2016, they worked as a PHD student and later as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Université de Tours, focusing on research topics related to battery materials. John'smost recent position is as a European Project Coordinator and Research and Development Engineer at Tiamat Energy, where they act as a direct contact with the project officer/European Commission and provides administrative and technical assistance to project managers and work package leaders.
John Abou-Rjeily obtained their Baccalaureate in Life Science from the Secondary Evangelical School in 2009. John then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Life and Earth sciences from the Lebanese University - Faculty of Sciences in 2012. In 2014, they completed a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Balamand. Following that, they pursued a Master 2 degree in Expertise et Traitement en Environnement from Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale, which they completed in 2016. Finally, John obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physical Chemistry and Chemistry of Materials from Université de Tours in 2019.

The Na-ion technology used in Tiamat 18650 cells presents outstanding properties for power applications, fast charging, and enhanced cycle life. Tiamat aims to further develop itstechnology in the years to come and to qualify its prototypes in collaboration with many industrial partners and end users.
