Cindy Lunsford

Cindy Lunsford is the EVP, COO and Chief Nursing Officer at TidalHealth. Cindy has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on hospital administration and operations.

Lunsford began their career in 2005 as the Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. In this role, they were responsible for leading the hospital's strategic and clinical activities, as well as its $430M+ annual budget. Cindy also oversaw six direct reports and was instrumental in implementing a number of process improvements that led to increased efficiency and profitability.

In 2010, Lunsford was promoted to Interim Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President Ambulatory and Professional Services. In this role, they focused on improving patient care quality and safety, as well as expanding the hospital's infrastructure. Under their leadership, the hospital turned around from operating at a projected FYE 2013 loss to $7.6M in profitability by FYE 2014.

In 2018, Lunsford was once again promoted, this time to Chief Nursing Officer. In this role, they have continued to focus on improving patient care quality and safety, as well as expanding the hospital's infrastructure. In 2019, they instituted a Nurse Residency Program to help new nurses transition into the workforce.

Cindy Lunsford has an EdD from Abilene Christian University in Organizational Leadership, an Executive Masters in Healthcare Leadership and Policy from Brown University, a Masters Applied Science in Population Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and an MBA from Augusta State University. Cindy also has an MSN from Medical Careers and a BSN from the Medical College of Georgia. Cindy is a Registered Nurse and has a Six Sigma Greenbelt - Healthcare certification from Villanova University.

Cindy Lunsford reports to Steven Leonard, President and CEO. Cindy Lunsford works with Karin Dibari - VP, Chief Physician Executive of Peninsula Regional Medical Group, James Trumble - VP, Clinical Integration, and Christopher Hall - VP, Strategy and Business Development, Chief Business Officer.
