Toiya Jones MBA, CPAR, CHAM, CCT has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Currently, they serve as the Director of Patient Access Services at Tidelands Health since June 2021. Prior to this, Toiya worked as a Board Member for the Georgia Chapter of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) starting in 2016.
In 2019, Toiya joined the National Coordination Center as an Industry Best Practice Advisor (Patient Access) on Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) for Cerner and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Toiya provided guidance and support in registration and patient access best practices until January 2022.
From 2015 to 2020, Toiya held the position of Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Consulting at Optum, where they utilized their expertise in revenue cycle management. Before this, they worked as the Director of Patient Access Services at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi from 2013 to 2014.
Toiya has also contributed to various associations and organizations in leadership roles. Toiya served as a Board Member for The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. from 2011 to 2013 and as a Board Member for the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) / Georgia Access Management Association from 2008 to 2013.
Throughout their career, Toiya has combined their industry knowledge and teaching abilities. Toiya worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Phoenix, teaching the Introduction to Healthcare Course from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, they served as the Manager of Revenue Cycle Operations at Quorum Health Resources, LLC from 2009 to 2011.
Toiya's experience also includes a role as the Director of Hospital Revenue Cycle Operations at Element Consulting Group/Accretive Health from December 2011 to December 2012. Toiya Jones holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business, which they obtained from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum University, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified Compliance Technician (CCT) from AAHAM, Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM), and Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
