Tommy Morgan

Tommy Morgan has over 15 years of experience in engineering and leadership roles. Tommy is currently working as the VP of Engineering at Tidelift, a position they started in 2022. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Engineering at Crystal Knows from 2021 to 2022. In this role, they were responsible for stabilizing, maintaining, and building upon a full-stack product. Tommy implemented agile processes, tooling, and SDLC, and led the development of a new AI engine. Tommy also moved the company from ad-hoc AWS infrastructure to a service-oriented architecture.

Before joining Crystal Knows, Tommy worked as a Senior Engineering Manager at Marqeta, Inc from 2020 to 2021. At Auth0, they served as a Senior Engineering Manager from 2019 to 2020, managing 15 engineers across multiple teams and focusing on improving team diversity and objectivity in hiring.

From 2018 to 2019, Tommy was the Director of Engineering at GitLab, Inc., where they were responsible for overseeing backend engineers and leading the Gitaly project. Tommy also created resources and training programs for scaling engineering managers.

Tommy's earlier experience includes working as the Vice President of Engineering at Treehouse, where they managed a team of 50+ across various domains. Tommy also worked at Art & Logic as a Senior Software Engineer, implementing custom software and acting as project manager and client relationship manager. Tommy started their career at CoLinx, LLC as a Developer/Analyst, helping to build and maintain an e-commerce platform. Tommy has a strong background in various technologies such as Java, Ruby on Rails, and React.

Tommy Morgan attended Furman University and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, with a specialization in Software Project Management. Tommy completed their education at the university in 2006.
