Ambassador Robert Hormats currently serves as Managing Director at Tiedemann Advisors, specializing in international finance, national security policy, and global financial markets, as well as the preservation of endangered species in Africa and beyond. Previously, Hormats held the position of Undersecretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment at the State Department, where responsibilities included advising the Secretary of State on international economic, environmental, and energy issues, as well as planning for G-20 and G-7 summits. Hormats was also Vice Chairman at Goldman Sachs, acting as the chief spokesman on international economic matters, and served as Deputy United States Trade Representative, engaging in trade negotiations and investment matters with key global partners. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in International Economics from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics from Tufts University.
