Dimitri Nicolopoulos has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 2004. In 2006, they worked as a Jr. Researcher & Software Developer (Co-op) at the BC Cancer Agency. In 2009, they enlisted in a one year mandatory service in the Hellenic Military Forces and was awarded the medal of distinction for their contribution to the battalion. In 2011, they worked as a Research & Software Engineer at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems, developing software for the EU-funded EXPERIMEDIA service. In 2012, they worked as a Research & Software Engineer at the Laboratory of Algebraic and Geometry Algorithms (ΕΡΓΑ), addressing problems in algorithmic algebra, computational geometry and their interplay. In 2016, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Simba Technologies, implementing, testing and optimizing new features for Apache Cassandra ODBC and JDBC drivers in C++ and Java. Currently, they are a Sr. Software Developer at Tigera, where they are developing self-managed security and observability platforms, and Kubernetes-native cloud services.

Dimitri Nicolopoulos obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon in 2014. Dimitri previously obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from The University of British Columbia in 2008. In 2018, they obtained a certification in Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera.
