Previously, Jingxi worked at LinkedIn as a Design Manager and Design Lead, where contributions included enhancing the LinkedIn search experience and launching initiatives such as "Open To Work" and "Open To Hiring" during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier experience includes serving as the Director of User Experience at Smule, where Jingxi led a team responsible for product retention and growth, while also establishing key design processes. Jingxi holds a Master’s degree in Design from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering from Beihang University.

TikTok, a subsidiary of Bytedance, first launched in China in September 2016 and outside of China in May 2017. In August 2018, musical.ly merged with TikTok, unifying the two platforms.
