Rudy X. Desjardins

Rudy X. Desjardins has a diverse work experience in the fields of DevOps engineering, software engineering, and project management. Rudy X. started their career as a Manager of Project Administration at Hostopia in 2002, where they were responsible for planning and executing large-scale migrations of clients' customer bases onto the company's platform. Rudy X. also developed and maintained software and systems supporting migration of web services. In 2006, they became a Senior Programmer at Hostopia, responsible for maintaining and enhancing core back-end provisioning systems and the client-facing provisioning API. Rudy X. was also the lead developer of the server-side of the SyncML project, integrating calendar and contact sync functionality for mobile devices.

In 2008, Rudy joined RevenueWire Inc. as a Senior Platform Developer, and later became the Director of Platform Development. At RevenueWire, they contributed to the development and enhancement of the platform.

From 2010 to 2011, Rudy worked at Sandbenders as an Operator, designing and developing enterprise-grade software and systems for clients. Rudy X. then joined VM Farms as a Senior Developer from 2011 to 2014.

In 2014, Rudy joined KIXEYE as a Senior DevOps Engineer, responsible for various aspects of the company's operational infrastructure including network engineering, scaling, configuration management, and maintenance. Rudy X. was later promoted to the role of Principal DevOps Engineer in 2015.

In 2022, Rudy worked as a Software Engineering Contractor at Sandbenders, collaborating with the Ontario Brain Institute to build out and deploy basic infrastructure for the Gen3 Data Commons platform.

Most recently, in 2023, Rudy served as a Part-time Instructor at Camosun College.

Currently, Rudy is working as a Principal DevOps Engineer at Tilting Point, a gaming company.

Rudy X. Desjardins attended SANS West 2009 for Security Essentials in 2009 and Sheridan College from 2000 to 2001 for Computer Science.
