Kathy Jones Ed.d.

Kathy Jones, Ed.D., currently serves as the Special Education Department Chair and Teacher at Ascent Classical Academies since January 2021. As an Affiliate Professor in the College of Education at Colorado Christian University since August 2016, Kathy delivers courses on diverse subjects such as Interventions for Emotional and Behavioral Needs and K-12 Reading Instruction. In addition, Kathy has been a National Trainer for Time to Teach Inc. since April 2016, promoting innovative classroom management strategies. Previous roles include Special Education Teacher at Golden View Classical Academy and Professor at Odessa College, where strategic leadership in the Department of Education was exercised. Kathy's early career includes serving as a district dyslexia teacher, where processes for supporting dyslexic students were developed. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Education from Walden University and a Master's degree in Reading Specialist from Abilene Christian University.
