Katie Greving has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Katie is currently working as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at TimelyMD since December 2021.
Prior to their current role, Katie served as the Executive Director of Decoding Dyslexia Iowa starting from January 2015. In this position, they directed organizational activities, led legislative advocacy efforts, planned dyslexia awareness events, designed and delivered training on learning disabilities and advocacy, and managed the organization's online and social media presence.
Katie also worked as an Associate Coordinator of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program at Iowa Child Advocacy Board since July 2015.
From 2006 to 2013, Katie worked as a Counselor at Drake University. In this role, they provided mental health counseling to students and coordinated care with the Health Center staff. Katie also designed and delivered mental health training for Drake's Resident Assistants.
Earlier in their career, Katie worked as a Counselor and Workplace Services Consultant at Employee and Family Resources from 1998 to 2005. In this role, they provided individual and family counseling, coordinated referrals to area providers, and designed and delivered training to companies on various topics including mental health, alcohol and drugs, sexual harassment, communication, and change management.
Katie demonstrates expertise in mental health counseling, advocacy, training and development, and social media management.
Katie Greving obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Katie then pursued further education and completed their Master's Degree in Educational & Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying there from 1996 to 1998.
In terms of certifications, they obtained a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification from the State of Iowa - Executive Branch in 2001. Additionally, they recently obtained a certification as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Telehealth) from the State of Florida in October 2022.
