Thomas Essery

Thomas Essery has over 30 years of work experience in the technology industry. Thomas started their career at Nortel Networks as an Engineer in 1989. Thomas then worked at Bell Northern Research as a Manager from 1994 to 1996. At Nortel Dasa, they served as a Senior Specialist in Strategic Technology Development from 1996 to 1997, and as a Senior Manager in Satcom Development from 1997 to 1999. Thomas then joined Arris Interactive as the Director of Cornerstone Data Software from 1999 to 2000. Thomas worked at Caspian Networks as a Senior Director of Engineering from 2000 to 2006. At Sony Ericsson, they held the positions of Head of Hardware and Software, Mobile Computing Division from 2006 to 2008, and Head of Technology Concepts in the CTO office from 2008 to 2009. Since 2009, they have been working at Timex Group, first as the VP of Advanced Technology and Innovation from 2009 to 2011, then as the VP of Digital R&D from 2011 to 2015, and currently as the CTO and VP of R&D.

Thomas Essery completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Victoria in 1985. Thomas then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary from 1986 to 1989.
