Deon Barnard

Deon Barnard has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Deon is currently serving as the Vice President of Business Development at TIMining since October 2022. Prior to that, Deon worked at IoT.nxt as the Global Executive Heavy Industries from October 2021 to January 2023.

Deon held multiple roles at Factory Systemes Groupe from November 2019 to December 2021, including Vice President DACH and General Manager Software. Deon also had a short stint at My next big thing in October and November 2019 in an unspecified role.

Before that, Deon served as the Managing Director at IS3 - Industry Software Solutions and Support from October 2012 to October 2019. Deon worked at Invensys Operations Management as the Divisional Director Sales from October 2011 to October 2012.

At Wonderware, Deon held the position of Divisional Manager Sales and Consulting from March 2011 to October 2011. Deon was responsible for managing a team of account managers and consultants, developing MES strategies for various industries, and consulting on product implementation.

Deon also worked at Realization Technologies as the Director South Africa from July 2007 to October 2010. Prior to that, they were the MES Business Development Manager at EOH from September 2007 to April 2010, where they developed a go-to-market strategy for MES projects using the ISA S95 standard.

Deon began their career as an Operations Consultant at Goldratt Consulting from July 2005 to July 2007, where they worked on Viable Vision projects and utilized the Theory of Constraints methodology to improve operational and supply chain management.

Deon Barnard completed their education as follows:

From 1978 to 1982, they attended Benoni Technical High School, where they obtained a National Certificate (Matric) in the field of Electrical.

From 1983 to 1988, they studied at the University of Johannesburg, earning a B.Ing degree in Electronics.

In 2005, they pursued further education at Goldratt Schools and achieved a TOC Certification in the field of Theory of Constraints.

In addition to their formal education, Deon Barnard has obtained several certifications. Deon received a MESA COC (Certificate of Compentancy) for MES & MOM from MESA GEP in May 2012. Deon also obtained a MESA Certificate of Awareness for MES & MOM from MESA Africa in May 2015 and a MESA Certificate of Compentancy for MES & MOM from MESA Africa in July 2017. More recently, in August 2020, they obtained a German A1.1 & A1.2 language certification from the Goethe Institute Johannesburg.
