Sarah Kwon has a diverse work experience that spans different industries and roles. Sarah currently works at Timmons Group as a Geographic Information Systems Technician, a position they started in February 2023. Prior to that, Sarah worked at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine from June 2019 to April 2022 as a Senior Program Assistant. Sarah also held the role of Program Assistant at the same company from June 2019 to November 2020.
Sarah has also gained experience in scientific research and presentations. Sarah worked as an Intern at the Science Museum of Virginia from May 2018 to June 2019, where they investigated the impact of street art murals on the urban heat island effect in Richmond, Virginia, alongside Dr. Eugene Maurakis and Dr. Jeremy Hoffman.
In their earlier years at the University of Richmond, starting from May 2016 to December 2017, Sarah worked as a Researcher with Dr. John Hayden, focusing on the anatomy and morphology of Acalypha setosa and specifically looking at their allomorphic and staminate flowers. Sarah also briefly served as a Greenhouse Caretaker from May 2016 to August 2016.
Sarah has presented their work at the Botany 2017 National Conference in June 2017 and at the Virginia Academy of Science in May 2016.
Sarah Kwon has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, General from the University of Richmond, which they obtained between 2015 and 2019. In 2022, they completed a Baccalaureate certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Penn State University. Sarah is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems at Penn State University, which they started in 2022 and is expected to finish in 2024.
