James Jackson

James Jackson has extensive work experience in the legal field. James is currently working as the General Counsel at Next Gen Foods, where they started in 2022. Prior to this, they were an Associate at Cooley LLP from 2019 to 2022. Before that, they worked as an Associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP from 2017 to 2019, focusing on private equity transactions in Hong Kong. James also gained experience as an Associate at Ropes & Gray LLP from 2015 to 2017 and as an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP from 2012 to 2015. James started their legal career as a Summer Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in 2011 and as a Summer Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in 2010. James also worked as a Senior Project Assistant at Vinson and Elkins from 2007 to 2008 and as a Summer Associate in 2009 at the same company. James has dealt with various impactful and complex M&A transactions throughout their career.

James Jackson completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from The University of Texas at Austin between 2002 and 2007. James'sstudies were focused on Plan II, Asian Studies, and Chinese. In 2005, they studied abroad at Peking University in China, continuing their emphasis on Chinese language and culture. Additionally, between 2004 and 2005, James attended Beijing Foreign Studies University to further their Chinese language skills. Later, they pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at Harvard Law School from 2008 to 2012. In 2010, they participated in the Inter-University Program, where they focused on Chinese studies.
