Jorge Vásquez Cárdenas

Jorge Vasquez is a Doctorando en Estudios Sociales Avanzados at Universidad Central since April 2024, currently researching "Environmental Grassroots Movements in Latin America and the Caribbean, alternative paths towards sustainable development." Previously, Jorge served as an English Teacher at Universidad Diego Portales from March 2023 to December 2023, and as a Research Assistant at ECLAC from June 2022 to December 2022. Experience includes a role as Tesista FONDECYT focusing on Venezuelan migrant trajectories at Centros ANID (June 2020 - June 2022) and a fellowship at COES on conflict geography and migration. Additional positions include Teaching Assistant at Universidad Diego Portales (2018 - 2022) and Consultant STC with The World Bank (May 2021 - April 2022). Jorge also coordinated Spanish language classes for Haitian immigrants with Español por la inclusión from June 2018 to June 2020. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Universidad Diego Portales, as well as a certificat from Sciences Po and studies in Architecture at Universidad de Chile.
