Position Information

Position Title:  Junior Estimator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: In-person Monday-Friday; subject to seasonal layoff

Please note this position is subject to seasonal 6-8 week layoff over the winter months.

                       

GENERAL SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

• Provide information to Subcontractors and Vendors

• Develop estimate budgets from various types of bid documents and specifications

• Solicit quotes and follow-up for quotable materials, equipment, and subcontractors

• Assist Senior Estimators with various tasks

• Thoroughly read plans and specifications and review for accurate scope of work and means & methods assessment.

• Ensure thorough and accurate quantity takeoffs

• Perform additional duties as assigned

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• 3 years of industry experience or College Degree with 1 year of experience

• Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task

• Prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands

• Ability to work under pressure

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Strong analytical skills and use of numbers

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Constant use of speech, hearing, and sight abilities, repetitive use of hands and wrists, handling, grasping, and reaching using computers, telephones, fax machines, and other office equipment
• Prolonged periods of sitting while performing desktop activities, frequent lifting, and carrying of up to 5-10lbs of paperwork and files, frequently bends and stoops while obtaining files in lower drawers
