Erwin de Gelder is a Scientist at TNO, specializing in Integrated Vehicle Safety since November 2014, focusing on the assessment of automated vehicles using real-life data and data analysis for sensor characterization. Previously, Erwin served as a PhD Candidate at Technische Universiteit Delft from October 2017 to September 2022, with a thesis on safety assessment of automated vehicles based on real-world driving scenarios. Early career experiences include roles as a Student Assistant at TU Delft and as Vehicle Dynamics Manager for the DUT Racing team, overseeing the design and production for the DUT13 electric car. Erwin holds a Master of Science in Systems & Control (2014) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (2011) from Delft University of Technology.
