Karim Elkholy

Applied Quantum Scientist at TNO

Karim Elkholy is an Applied Quantum Scientist at TNO since January 2023. Previously, Karim served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia from September 2019 to December 2022, teaching various courses in semiconductor devices, physics, and engineering. Alongside teaching, Karim was a Graduate Research Assistant at the same institution, focusing on the development of on-chip tunable inductors for D-Wave's quantum annealers, and also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, where the fabrication of TiO2 nanorods, nanotubes, and perovskite solar cells was a primary focus. Earlier experience includes a Research Intern role at Mentor Graphics in digital design and a Research Intern position at The American University in Cairo, specializing in standard cells optimization. Karim holds a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nanotechnology and Nano-electronics Engineering from Zewail City of Science and Technology.
