Rogier van der Wal

Rogier van der Wal is a Senior Scientist at TNO Defence, Security and Safety, focusing on the survivability of naval platforms, particularly in relation to ballistics and fire development. With experience as a project manager, Rogier contributed to the design of Holland Class vessels and the Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigate while developing practical products like HARNESS protection bulkheads. In 2024, Rogier joined the National Reserve of the Royal Netherlands Navy as a Sergeant Aspirant Officier, aiming to bridge technical knowledge with operational experience. Rogier holds a Master of Science in Applied Physics from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and has engaged in international cooperation on maritime technology research.
