Trent Smith has a strong background in intellectual property (IP) management and strategy. Trent started their career as a Patent Examiner at IP Australia in 2003. From 2004 to 2008, they worked as an IP Manager at The GCC Group, a company specializing in imaging consumables. In 2008, they joined Minerva Research as a Technical and IP Manager, where they focused on renewable energy technology R&D and IP portfolio development. Later that year, they moved to NextWindow Ltd as an IP Manager, playing a key role in developing and managing the company's IP strategy and patent portfolio. In 2011, they joined SMART Technologies as a Manager, Intellectual Property, where they led a global team of IP professionals and managed the company's global IP operations. Currently, they are the Chief IP Officer at Tobii AB, a position they have held since 2013.
