Renee Garvens

VP of Development at Tobin Center for the Performing Arts

Renee Garvens is the VP of Development at Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Renee previously worked as the Chief Development Officer at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio from June 2018 to June 2021.

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio serves youth through a variety of after-school and summer programs including homework assistance, technology centers, teen centers, career exploration, job assistance, sports and recreation, art classes and leadership development.

Garvens was responsible for leading the fundraising efforts for the organization. Last year, the organization was able to raise enough money to keep all of its programs running despite the pandemic. The organization also saw a 99% success rate for members staying in school and progressing to the next grade level.

Renee Garvens has a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Renee also has a Master's of Education in Education, Adult and Secondary from University of the Incarnate Word. Renee is currently a part of the Tesoro Leadership Fellows Program at the San Antonio Area Foundation, which is focused on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management.

Renee Garvens works with Jeff LaSante - VP & CFO, Kimberly Stephenson - Director of Education, and Jack Freeman - VP of Facilities & Operations. Renee Garvens reports to Michael Fresher, President & CEO.
