Robert Beagley-Brown has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Robert founded TOG Knives Ltd in 2012, a British company that combines Japanese artisan knifemaking with European design to create exceptional kitchen knives. Additionally, they worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West of England from 2013 to 2015. Before that, they ran Beagley-Brown Design as a Freelance Industrial Designer from 2009 to 2014, offering product design services and operating the 'Designosaur' Blog on design and sustainability. From 2004 to 2009, Beagley-Brown co-founded Sprout Design Ltd., a sustainable design consultancy that specialized in environmentally friendly and inclusive products, and worked with clients like Tesco, ASDA, Virgin Atlantic, and B&Q. Robert also worked as an Industrial Designer at Oribe Design Centre from 2002 to 2004, where their designs for eco-friendly kitchen knives were shortlisted for the international INDEX design award. Other roles in Beagley-Brown's career include being a Research Associate at the Helen Hamlyn Centre in 2002, an Industrial Designer at (AC)2 in 2003, an Industrial Designer at Minale Tattersfield and Partners from 2000 to 2003, an Industrial Designer at Wolf Garten in 2001, and an Industrial Designer at Queensbury Hunt Levien in 1998. Robert Beagley-Brown completed their education with an Master of Engineering - MEng degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge in the years 1993 to 1997. Robert further pursued their studies and obtained a MA degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art between 1998 and 2000.
