Jun Jiang

Senior Director at Tome Biosciences

Jun Jiang has an extensive work experience in the field of biosciences. Starting in 2005, they worked at UMass Medical School, first as a Postdoctoral Fellow, conducting research on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuronal axon growth and guidance. They then became an Instructor, focusing on using genome editing technology to insert a large XIST transgene into chromosome 21 to silence the extra chromosome in Down syndrome stem cells. Their work resulted in a publication and a patent. In 2014, they were promoted to Assistant Professor at UMass Medical School, where they continued their research on Down syndrome and cognitive impairments. They used iPSC-based trisomy silencing models to identify key regulators underlying cognitive impairments in Down syndrome. In 2019, Jun Jiang joined Biogen as a Scientist. Finally, in 2021, they joined Tome Biosciences as a Principal Scientist, and later became a Senior Principal Scientist. They are currently serving as Senior Director at Tome Biosciences.

Jun Jiang has pursued education in the field of medicine, particularly in pediatrics. They attended China Medical University and obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree specializing in Pediatrics. Additionally, Jun Jiang pursued further studies at the same institution and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the field of Molecular Genetics of Pediatrics. The exact years of enrollment and completion for both degrees are not provided.
