Alberto Villarreal has extensive work experience in the field of industrial design. Alberto currently serves as Design Director at Tonal, where they lead the Hardware Design teams and oversees various projects related to product development and design innovation. Prior to their role at Tonal, Villarreal worked at Google as a Creative Lead and Industrial Design Manager, where they built and led a team of industrial designers and focused on the creative direction of Google's consumer hardware products. Alberto also has experience as a Creative Director and Co-founder at AGENT, where they were responsible for integrating business vision and design execution. Villarreal's earlier career includes roles as a Senior Lead Designer at LUNAR, where they led multiple design programs for clients such as HP and Adidas, and as an independent consultant and industrial designer. Alberto gained valuable experience as an intern in transportation design at Pininfarina, Johnson Controls GMBH, and Volkswagen de Mexico.
Alberto Villarreal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where they studied from 1995 to 2000. Alberto then attended Umeå University from 2000 to 2002, where they completed a Master of Arts degree in Transportation Design.
