William Riordan

William Riordan has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. William has held various leadership roles in facility and engineering management throughout their career.

In their most recent position as the Sr Director of Facilities and Engineering at Tonix Pharmaceuticals, they played a crucial role in transitioning the company from a virtual organization to a fully operational facility in the US. William led the design and construction of a Brownfield BSL2+ cGMP Clinical Manufacturing Facility and currently oversees facility operations, engineering, maintenance, and environmental, health, and safety.

Prior to that, William worked as the Director of Facilities and Engineering at WuXi Biologics, where they led the design and permitting of the company's first CDMO Facility in the United States. William demonstrated expertise in project execution and strategic planning.

Before joining WuXi Biologics, William served as a Sr Capital Project Manager at Genzyme, where they oversaw multiple capital projects supporting GMP Manufacturing. William introduced shared savings incentivized contracts, resulting in higher project success rates.

Earlier in their career, William worked at Shire HGT as a Sr Project Manager, managing manufacturing facility construction, renovation, and expansion projects. William successfully completed the construction of a $240M commercial scale Biologics manufacturing facility.

William also served as an Engineering Manager at Biokinetics, leading multi-disciplinary engineers in designing and building equipment and systems for the Biotech and Pharmaceutical industry. Notable projects include high-purity water and clean steam systems and the design and construction of the Wyeth/Immunex manufacturing facility.

Furthermore, William has held positions as a Project Engineer at BASF Bioresearch, a Plant Engineer at Perseptive Biosystems, and a Mechanical Engineer at Sepracor Inc.

Throughout their career, William Riordan has demonstrated strong leadership skills, expertise in facility design and construction, and a track record of successful project management.

William Riordan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology from 1985 to 1987. William later pursued a Certificate in Project Management from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in 2003.
