Job Description:

TOOLBX is seeking a talented and motivated Wordpress Web Developer to join our passionate team of professionals. This is a temporary role covering an upcoming maternity leave, with potential to convert to full time.
As a web developer at TOOLBX, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build out pixel-perfect, fully functional, standards compliant interfaces that enhance the overall user experience and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality front-end web applications using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript in a Wordpress Environment.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to transform designs into functional web pages.
• Implement responsive and mobile-friendly designs to ensure optimal user experience across different devices and screen sizes.
• Optimise web pages for performance and loading speed, ensuring an excellent user experience.
• Collaborate with the back-end development team to integrate front-end interfaces with back-end services via RESTful APIs.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of web applications to ensure W3C standards compliance and seamless functionality.
• Stay updated with the latest web development trends, techniques, and best practices.
• Provide recommendations for improving existing front-end markup implementation and overall performance.
• Utilise Figma for efficient collaboration and seamless integration with the design team.
• Implement and customise WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
• Work closely with the marketing team to optimise websites for SEO and performance.
• Communicate effectively with team members, actively participating in code reviews and technical discussions.

Requirements:

• A Wordpress portfolio.
• Strong experience in WordPress development, including theme customization and plugin integration.
• Proven experience as a web developer, with a focus on web design and markup.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of responsive web design principles and mobile-first development.
• Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries, such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Proficiency in Figma for design collaboration and integration.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to transform designs into pixel-perfect, standards compliant web pages.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles and best practices.
• Understanding of web accessibility standards and techniques.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
