Ilkay Demirdag

Ilkay Demirdag has an extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Currently, they are serving as an Independent Board Member at Aksa Enerji Üretim A.Ş. In 2022, they held the position of Strategic Board Member at AVANEA, where they focused on investments and the development of breakthrough technologies. Ilkay also worked as a Venture Partner at Sente Ventures, a venture capital investment platform, focusing on deep-tech investments globally. Before that, they were a Nominee Director at the International Finance Corporation. Additionally, they worked as an Advisor at Spin Ventures, and as the Head of Global Events at Top Tier Impact. In 2023, they will assume the role of Thought Leader of the Year/Columnist at illuminem. Previously, they served as a Senior Presenter & Advisor at SustainFinance, where they created a thought leadership platform on purposeful finance and sustainability. Ilkay Demirdag also had experience as the Head of Investor Relations at Enerjisa and as the Financial Affairs Director at Calik Holding.

Ilkay Demirdag has a diverse education history. In 1998, they obtained a BSc in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University, followed by an MSc in Architecture from the same institution in 2000. Ilkay then pursued further studies and completed an MSc in Economics & Management from UCL in 2004. In 2011, they attended the Advanced Corporate Finance Programme at the London Business School. In 2012, Ilkay Demirdag enrolled in the Executive Education program at Harvard Business School, focusing on Private Equity & Venture Capital. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications in areas such as Impact Management, Women on Boards and Business Leadership, Corporate Governance, Derivative Instruments, and Capital Market Activities.
