Akshay Nakra

Akshay Nakra is a Senior Software Engineer at Topcon Positioning Systems, focusing on software development for next-generation GNSS receivers since March 2023. Prior to this role, Akshay served as a Senior Software Engineer at 10x Genomics, where a high throughput real-time image acquisition and storage system was implemented for the Xenium project. Akshay also contributed to Velodyne Lidar, Inc. as a Software Engineer, developing an object detection evaluation tool and other machine learning-related features. Earlier experience includes roles at Mapper, later acquired by Velodyne, and Oracle, where Akshay was involved in firmware development for SPARC servers. Akshay's career began at Perot Systems, where programming expertise in mainframe systems was utilized across multiple roles. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
