Elmer Jacobs

Elmer Jacobs has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Elmer began their career in 2008 at the European Patent Office, where they worked as a Patent Examiner Assistant until 2012. In 2009, Elmer also took on various roles at D.S.V.V. "Punch", including serving on the Yearbook Committee and the External Tournament Committee.

In 2010, they returned to the European Patent Office as a Patent Examiner Assistant once again, staying until 2011. Elmer then worked as a Homework Tutor at Haags Studiepunt from November 2013 to July 2014.

Elmer joined TOPdesk in 2014, first as a Summer Intern in July and August, and later as a Software Developer. In this role, they contributed to the technical development of the company's services-based functionality. Elmer then transitioned into the role of Technical Product Owner in September 2017. During this time, Elmer led a research project to identify potential solutions for improving the technical architecture and customer experience. The chosen solution was to release a Virtual Appliance, which streamlined configuration issues and allowed for easy future enhancements. Elmer concluded their work at TOPdesk in June 2021.

Furthermore, Elmer was involved in internet activities and backend development as part of the Committee Internet Activities (CIA) at D.S.V.V. "Punch" from February 2011 to February 2015.

Elmer Jacobs pursued their education at Delft University of Technology, where they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned another Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Control Engineering from the same university, attending from 2007 to 2010. Jacobs' educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they obtained from Delft University of Technology from 2004 to 2007. In addition to their academic qualifications, they achieved the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer certification in November 2016 from Oracle.
