Michelle van der Knaap's work experience includes various roles in different companies. Michelle started working in 2010 as an ijsschepper at IJssalon LKKR!!!. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a horeca medewerkster at Grand Cafe Restaurant Bij5. In 2012, they worked as a stagiair at Mise en Place and also as a promotiewerk en barmedewerkster at Feestcafe De Heeren van Amstel. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a horeca medewerkster at Restaurant Oker. In 2015, they had two roles, one as a horeca medewerkster at Restaurant Nu Nu and another as a manager at Restaurant Oker. Michelle then worked as an accountmanager at Boozed from 2016 to 2022. Currently, they are working as a customer success manager at TOPdesk since July 2023.

Michelle van der Knaap's education history begins with their completion of HAVO at Dalton Den Haag in 2009. Following this, they attended Haagse Hogeschool Den Haag from 2009 to 2013, majoring in Commerciële economie. During their educational journey, Michelle also obtained various certifications. In 2015, they achieved a certification in Sociale Hygiëne from SVH (Stichting Vakbekwaamheid Horeca). In 2018, they completed a course in Consultative Selling from NCOI Opleidingen. Continuing their pursuit of mastering the English language, Michelle obtained certifications in Cursus Engels - Presenting, Cursus Engels - E-mail, and Cursus Engels - Meetings from Van Kraaij Educatie in 2021.
