Heather Kane

Heather Kane has worked in the legal field for over 15 years. In 2017, they began working at TOPDOG Legal Marketing, LLC as a Legal Content Director and Production Chief. Heather also held the role of Writer at the company. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as a Research Attorney at the Hamilton Circuit Court. From 2005 to 2014, they were a Judicial Clerk at the Indiana Court of Appeals, where they researched issues raised in criminal and civil appeals across all areas of law, drafted opinions for judges to review, and reviewed and edited draft opinions. From 2004 to 2005, they were a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where they prepared and delivered lectures to first-year law students, taught legal reasoning and analysis, and evaluated students' written assignments. From 2001 to 2004, they were a Case Law Editor at LexisNexis, where they read and analyzed court opinions, drafted case law summaries, and marked statutory annotations for use by Lexis database customers.

Heather Kane has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Indiana University Maurer School of Law (1992-1996), a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Purdue University in Organizational Communication; Language and Literature (1984-1987), and attended DePauw University for Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies (1983-1984). Heather has also obtained two certifications, the AMA Professional Certified Marketer (PCM) in Digital Marketing from the American Marketing Association in October 2022 and the Certified Digital Marketing Professional from the Digital Marketing Institute in October 2022.
