Andrea Rocco Matta has a diverse work experience in the field of architecture and design. They are currently working as a Concept Design Lead at TopHat, a position they began in April 2022. Before joining TopHat, Andrea co-founded a start-up venture called Modulor in 2021. Modulor focuses on designing affordable and easy-to-use methods of making physical spaces machine-readable using Digital Twin technology. Andrea also worked as an Architect/Designer at Xylotek Ltd from February 2022 to April 2022.

Prior to these roles, Andrea gained extensive experience at Hopkins Architects, where they held multiple positions. From October 2019 to February 2022, they worked as an Architect and were involved in a large-scale hospitality project, along with previous work on educational projects and competitions in the healthcare, educational, and residential sectors. Andrea demonstrated their proficiency in Revit as they led a BIM package for a hotel development. Before this role, Andrea worked as a Part 3 Architectural Assistant from October 2018 to October 2019, where they worked on a large educational project. Additionally, they worked as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant from November 2017 to October 2018, joining a team for feasibility studies and preparation for Stage 2 and Planning Application.

Andrea's career began as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant at Wilkinson Eyre Architects from August 2014 to August 2015, where they contributed to the refurbishment of the Grade II* listed Battersea Power Station. Prior to this, they worked as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant at Donald Insall Associates from November 2013 to July 2014, focusing on the adaptation and re-use of historic buildings in conservation areas. Their experience culminated in interventions and refurbishments at the Palace of Westminster.

Lastly, Andrea started their career as an Architectural Intern at EMBT, where they worked on new developments such as the Fudan University campus in Shanghai, the Bamboo Tower in Shenzhen, and a competition for the New Province House of Antwerp in Belgium. The internship provided them with hands-on experience in CAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, model making, and 3D collages.

Andrea Rocco Matta pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2006 to 2009, they attended IED Barcelona and obtained a diploma in Interior Design. Following that, they enrolled at The University of Sheffield for a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) from 2010 to 2013. In this program, they undertook a dual degree curriculum that focused on both Architecture and Landscape Architecture. Finally, from 2015 to 2017, Andrea attended The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, where they completed their Master of Architecture (MArch) degree, specializing in Architecture.
