Aashish Rai

Founding Data Scientist at Toplyne

Aashish Rai has held several positions in the energy and engineering fields since 2017. In 2017, they were an Engineering and Research Intern at SELCO Foundation, where they evaluated waste to energy technologies as an alternative to solar. Aashish also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Purdue University, researching the extraction of oil from spent coffee grounds. In 2018, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Solar Energy Research Group, where they developed a model for converting a biomass stream to a biofuel product. In 2019, they worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as a Biorefinery Analysis Engineer, diagnosing a multiple hierarchy Aspen flowsheet. In 2021, they were a Founding Data Scientist at Toplyne and a Technical Analyst to the CXO Office at inGO Electric, where they collected and analysed data to provide insights into possible improvements.

Aashish Rai completed their high school education from Mallya Aditi International School between 2002 and 2015, majoring in Science and Economics. Aashish then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University between 2015 and 2019. Aashish has also obtained various certifications from Coursera and Aspen Technology, including Applied Data Science Capstone, Data Visualization with Python, IBM Data Science Specialization, Machine Learning with Python, Python for Data Science and AI, Data Analysis with Python, Data Science Methodology, Databases and SQL for Data Science, Tools for Data Science, What is Data Science?, Excel/VBA for Creative Problem Solving, Python - Programming for Everybody, Python Data Structures, Introduction to Programming with MATLAB and Aspen Certified User.
