Franziska Hardmeier

Franziska Hardmeier has a diverse work experience in the language solutions industry. Franziska is currently serving as the VP AI & Technology at Toppan Digital Language. In this role, Franziska is part of the founding leadership team, aiming to revolutionize the language solutions market by helping companies communicate better with their linguistically diverse audiences.

Prior to this, Franziska worked at SDL plc, where they held multiple roles. As the Director of SLATE, they oversaw the strategic delivery of a user-friendly translation offering that combined Machine Translation and Human Review Service, as well as a subscription service. Franziska also served as the Director of MT & AI Solutions - Regulated Industries.

Before joining SDL plc, Franziska worked at Donnelley Language Solutions and MultiTrans. During their time there, they held various positions such as Head of Technical Services, Global Technology Manager, and Production Team Lead. Franziska was responsible for leading cross-functional teams, providing technical support, and managing pre-sales and post-sales activities.

Franziska also gained experience as the Translation Operations Manager at Mouse Manoeuvres Limited, a small translation company, and as a German Translator at Sony UK. Franziska started their career as a Language Technologist at CLS Communication AG.

Franziska Hardmeier completed their Bachelor of Arts in Translation from Zürcher Hochschule Winterthur ZHW between 2002 and 2006. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Bilingual Translation from the University of Westminster from 2004 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Agile Product Owner Techniques from LinkedIn in 2017 and Prince 2 Foundation from APMG-International in 2015.
