Alexey Stysin

Alexey Stysin has over 18 years of work experience. Alexey began their career in 2003 as a Junior Researcher at Moscow State University Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics, where they worked on their PhD thesis. In 2009, they joined Neurok Techsoft as a Research Engineer, where they were the lead researcher and developer on multiple machine-learning projects. In 2013, they co-founded CubicPrints, an online digital manufacturing platform for engineers and a marketplace for 3d-designers. In 2014, they joined Yandex as a Lead Software Engineer and then as a Mechanism Design Team Lead. In this role, they developed a next generation VCG auction mechanism for unit-demand bidders with multidimensional preferences for ad types, a novel ML approach for positional click uplift and conversion uplift predictions, a prototype for end-to-end revenue optimization for search ads auction based on differentiable optimization methods, and more. In 2022, they joined Topsort as a Data Science Tech Lead.

Alexey Stysin completed their PhD in Atomic/Molecular Physics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) between 2006 and 2009. Prior to that, they completed their MS in Nuclear Physics from the same university between 2000 and 2006.
