Paul Schmitt is a highly experienced engineer with a robust background in autonomous vehicles and robotics. Currently serving as Principal Systems Engineer at Torc Robotics, Paul oversees the development of autonomy architecture while guiding the development roadmap through safety requirements and product needs. As Director of Automated Vehicles at MassRobotics, Paul promotes automated vehicle development and coordinates the New England Automated Vehicle Consortium. Previous roles include key positions at Motional, nuTonomy, iRobot, and Ford Motor Company, where Paul led various engineering and project management efforts in autonomous systems, robotic safety, and innovative vehicle technologies. Paul holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
