Katie Richardson, CPA

Katie Richardson, CPA has a diverse work experience in accounting, auditing, and business development. Katie began their career in 2011 as an Office of Career Services Receptionist at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. In 2012, they interned at PwC as a Risk Assurance Intern, where they were offered a full-time position in 2014. As a Risk Assurance Senior Associate, they assisted with proposal process that secured a $450,000 financial statement audit over an asset management firm, and redesigned not-for-profit client's business processes and controls during reorganization and new ERP system (Workday) implementation. In 2017, Katie moved to JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Senior Technology Auditor, Corporate & Investment Bank, where they gained an understanding of end-to-end business processes to identify IT controls and dependencies, and tested, evaluated and reported on the adequacy and effectiveness of the IT control environment. In 2019, Katie joined Avison Young as an Office Leasing Associate (Tenant and Landlord Representation), specializing in landlord and tenant representation with a strong focus on business development. In 2021, they began their current role as Revenue Accounting Manager and Senior Staff Accountant at Torch.

Katie Richardson, CPA has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting and Finance, General from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business from 2010 to 2013. Katie also attended Towson University for General Studies from 2009 to 2010 and Roanoke College for General Studies in 2008. In addition to their education, they have obtained a Cybersecurity Awareness Training from ESET North America in June 2021 and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maryland.
