Rupal Shah

Rupal Shah is an experienced professional in the arts and education sectors, currently serving as the Director of Policy & Programs at the Toronto Arts Council since December 2023. Prior to this role, Rupal held several key positions, including Professor of Arts Management at Centennial College from October 2022 to August 2025 and Associate Director of Granting (Interim) at the Ontario Arts Council from September 2023 to November 2023. Rupal's extensive experience also includes serving as the Lead of Community Investment at the Canadian Urban Institute from December 2020 to June 2022 and previously as Strategic Programs Manager at the Toronto Arts Council from April 2016 to December 2020. Additional accomplishments include being a DiverseCity Fellow with CivicAction in 2019 and an interim General Manager at SummerWorks in early 2016. Rupal began a career in production as a Producer at Nightswimming from 2010 to 2015. Rupal holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Toronto - Victoria University and has obtained a Teacher of English as a Second Language degree from Seneca Polytechnic.
