Jason Benson

Jason Benson is the Director of Corporate Finance at Tortoise Capital Advisors. Jason has over 10 years of experience in the financial industry, including investment banking, valuation services, and corporate finance.

Jason began their career as a Junior Analyst/Trader at Liquidity Solutions, Inc. Jason then interned at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in 2008 and 2009 before joining Cowen and Company as an Analyst in Investment Banking. Jason spent a year at Cowen before moving to Murray Devine as an Analyst in Valuation Services.

In 2013, Jason joined Greentech Capital Advisors (now Nomura Greentech) as an Associate in Investment Banking. Jason spent four years there before joining TortoiseEcofin as the Director of Corporate Finance in 2017. Jason has been with Tortoise for three years and is responsible for the financial planning and analysis of the company.

Jason Benson has a MS in Finance from Villanova University, a BSBA in Finance and Economics from Seton Hall University, and a Certification from CFA Institute. Jason also has a Certification from Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in Series 63 and 79.

Jason Benson reports to Michelle Johnston, Senior Managing Director and CFO. Jason Benson works with and Brent Behrens - Director, Controller.
