Venugopalan Kottayi has been in the corporate world since 2001, when they began their career as the Managing Director of Total Gym. In 2005, they joined Total Gym India, Group of Companies as the Managing Director, where they have been working since.

Venugopalan Kottayi attended Kendriya Vidyalaya from 1971 to 1983, where they attained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering.
