Simon Coggins

Simon Coggins has over 15 years of work experience in various roles, starting in 2003. Simon began their career as a Data Manager at the British Antarctic Survey, where they ensured the safe collection of data from multiple scientific experiments. Simon also served as the Winter Station Commander, overseeing the smooth running of the research station and managing a team of 16 staff. In 2010, Simon joined Catalyst IT Limited as a Software Developer, where they developed code and processes for complex data migration and worked on e-learning projects. In the same year, they joined Totara Learning, initially as a Lead Software Architect, setting high code quality standards and implementing effective software development processes. Simon then served as the Chief Technology Officer, leading the technology team and driving change to deliver business strategy. Currently, Simon holds the position of Director of Learning Technologies at Totara Learning.

Simon Coggins earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from The University of Sheffield, where they studied from 1995 to 1998. Simon then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Astrophysics at the University of Nottingham, completing their studies from 1999 to 2003.
