John Barrett has an extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. John started their career in 2007 as a Funding Databases Coordinator at the Directory of Social Change, providing customer support and financial administration. John later joined the Small Charities Coalition in 2008, initially as a Director of Operations and then as the Chief Executive from 2014 to 2017.
In 2017, John became the Interim Chair at The Transforming Autism Project and also worked as a Director at Stonar Group. John continued their involvement in the non-profit sector by serving as a Mentor at Funding for All in 2018.
Furthermore, they had a role in Zeidman Development as an Interim Client Services. In 2019, John became a Trustee at Pie Factory Music. John later joined Accelerating Community Empowerment in 2020 as a Charity Advisor.

John completed their degree in 2005.
