John Den Boer has over 20 years of work experience in the architecture field. John is currently serving as the Director of K-12 Education and Senior Design Architect at TowerPinkster since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Design Architect at the same company from January 2020 to January 2023. John also gained experience as a Design Architect at Tower Pinkster: Architects & Engineers from August 2015 to January 2020. Before joining Tower Pinkster, John worked as an Architect at Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company from June 2012 to August 2015 and at HBA Architecture & Interior Design, Inc. from October 2004 to June 2012. John started their career as an Architect Intern at Chou & Associates from February 2004 to October 2004. John also has teaching and research experience, having worked as a Research Assistant at Iowa State University from August 2002 to July 2003 and as a Teaching Assistant from January 2000 to January 2002.
John Den Boer completed their education by earning a Masters degree in Architecture from Iowa State University from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design from Dordt University between 1996 and 2000. Additionally, John has obtained several certifications, including the Living Future Accreditation (LFA) from the International Living Future Institute in September 2021, the AIA certification from the American Institute of Architects in April 2012, and the LEED AP BD + C certification from GBCI in February 2009.
