Evan Kirk currently serves as the Stormwater Utility Coordinator for the Town of Apex, overseeing stormwater utility billing and stream determination for the Jordan Lake buffer rule since October 2022. In addition, Evan has been involved with Carrboro Recreation and Parks as an umpire and part-time employee since February 2018. Previously, Evan held several positions at the Environmental Finance Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including Acting Senior Project Director and Project Director, focusing on applied research in water finance topics and providing technical assistance for small water systems. Evan also contributed as a research assistant for the Jordan Lake Nutrient Management study and gained teaching experience as a teaching assistant for a course on Agriculture and the Environment. Earlier experience includes roles as a LEAF Fellow at Envirolink Inc. and a Conservation Intern at North Carolina Botanical Gardens. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning, a GISc Graduate Certificate, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, all obtained from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
