Cathy Cook is a seasoned building official with extensive experience in construction oversight, having served the Town of Blacksburg from April 1998 until retirement. In this role, Cathy extensively reviewed and inspected new construction, remodeling, additions, and property maintenance in accordance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code. Additionally, Cathy held the position of President of the Virginia Building Code Officials Association. Previously, from September 1987 to 2000, Cathy managed the Drafting Division at Olver Inc., where project designs for water and sewer systems were created. Cathy's career began in July 1974 at the Virginia Department of Transportation as an Engineering Technician, focusing on the design and development of road construction projects across Virginia.
