Leslie Hager-Smith

Leslie Hager-Smith has extensive experience in public service and community engagement, currently serving as the Mayor of the Town of Blacksburg since July 2008, having previously held roles as Vice Mayor and Town Councilor. Prior to this, Leslie was the Director of the Downtown Merchants of Blacksburg and the YMCA at Virginia Tech, focusing on community programs. Leslie began a career in journalism with positions at the Roanoke Times and Virginia Tech, where responsibilities included technical editing and writing for the College of Education's publication. Leslie holds a BA in Journalism and Recent American History from The University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude.
