Joshua Cairns is an experienced urban planner currently serving as a Senior Planner (Policy) for the Town of Canmore, where notable projects include managing the "Connect Downtown" initiative and leading the Palliser Trail Area Structure Plan. Prior experience includes roles as Planner II for the District of North Vancouver, where Joshua contributed to the Metro 2050 growth strategy and complex planning files, and Planner II and Planner I at the City of Vancouver, encompassing the development of the Cambie Corridor Plan. Joshua also served as Executive Director of a non-profit sustainability organization, Embark, and engaged in various planning and sustainability roles across multiple municipalities, supported by a Master’s Degree in Resource and Environmental Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Geography from Simon Fraser University.
