Karen Kelley has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. Karen started their career as an Accountant/IT Technician at County of Orange, VA from July 1996 to December 2000. Karen then worked as a Teacher at Orange County Public Schools from October 2001 to August 2007. Karen then moved on to become the Treasurer/Finance Director at Town of Gordonsville VA from August 2007 to January 2011. Karen further gained experience as the Director of Finance at Town of Orange from January 2011 to February 2014, and as the Chief Deputy Treasurer-Taxes & Collections from February 2014 to June 2015. Currently, they are working as the Chief Accountant at Town of Culpeper, Virginia since July 2015.
Karen Kelley attended Orange County High School from 1976 to 1979. From 1979 to 1981, they studied Business Administration and Management at Virginia Tech, but did not obtain a degree. From 1981 to 1984, Karen Kelley enrolled at North Carolina Wesleyan University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Criminal Justice.
