Maureen A. Thomas

Community Preservation Coordinator at TOWN OF FALMOUTH

Maureen A. Thomas is a seasoned Water Resource Specialist with extensive experience in water quality improvement and community preservation. Currently self-employed, Maureen focuses on nitrogen-reducing septic systems and collaborates with various stakeholders including homeowners, engineers, and regulators. As the Community Preservation Coordinator for the Town of Falmouth, Maureen implements the Community Preservation Act for housing, historic preservation, open space, and recreation. Previous roles include managing nitrogen reduction projects at the Buzzards Bay Coalition, serving as Conservation Agent for the Town of Kingston, and holding positions in risk management and procurement with the Town of Truro. Maureen has also worked as a Hydrologic Technician for the U.S. Geological Survey. Maureen holds a Master of Public Administration from UMass Boston and a Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Biology from Bridgewater State University.
